Craig first started practicing yoga over 35 years ago. With a physical job working in construction and playing different team sports for recreation, he never made the time to develop a consistent yoga practice. About 14 years ago after having to stop playing the sports he loves mainly due to lingering injuries he came back home to yoga. At some point while practicing 2-3 times a week in different studios for a decade or so, Craig’s practice felt stagnant. To deepen his understanding of the history and philosophy of Yoga, he took teacher training at Be Luminous Yoga. While his intention of taking the training was not to teach, somewhere along the way he became inspired to teach. Teaching Yoga is another evolution in his spiritual growth.
Craig brings his life experience, humor, playfulness, LOVE of Yoga and music to each class! When Craig is not in a yoga studio he is doing some sort of construction project, walking his dog, listening to and playing blues, jazz, and kirtan music, enjoying the salt air of Puget Sound on Camano Island, and spending time with friends and family. He especially enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife of 23 years, Nan. Craig looks forward to seeing you on the mat!
It is both a joy and an honor for Susan to be teaching at the studio where she has spent so many hours on her mat as a student. She has found yoga to be truly transformational as it has allowed her to live more authentically, with greater purpose and with connection to not only herself but to her community and to the world. Susan’s classes balance strength with softness, allowing students to connect to breath, body and the present moment. Yoga embodies more than asana, the physical poses, and in Susan’s classes you will connect with your higher self and awaken to the peace, power and possibility that already exist within you.
Being a lifelong athlete, Renee loves to run, mountain bike, hike and ski. She came to find herself on a yoga mat to prevent injury, but soon realized yoga empowered her with a mental awareness and clarity that she had never experienced before. She felt the need to bring this mind body transformative experience to others, so after practicing yoga for over ten years, became a yoga teacher.
Renee is E-RYT 200 registered with Yoga Alliance, and is currently earning her RYT 500 at Eight Limbs Yoga Centers Seattle. She completed SHAKTI’s Teacher Assisting Program (TAP) and SHAKTI’s Teacher Mentorship Program (TMP) with Lisa Black. She has earned her 40 hour ‘Yoga Sutra Intensive’ certification with Rod Stryker and has been a student at UCLA studying mindfulness.
Renee has traveled extensively to workshops with her favorite teachers Shiva Rea, Rod Stryker, Dharma Mittra and Baron Baptiste who inspire her daily, on and off her mat. She believes yoga is a moving meditation and you will find her classes are fun, challenging and filled with guidance to help you reveal your inner power and true beauty that is with in us all. He strongly believes that happiness cannot be achieved by just tying it to big goals, but it comes from finding something in the current moment to be happy about and to smile about it. Those moments then go on to make your entire life.
Tina Templeman has been a serious student of yoga since 1999 when a severe injury brought her to the brink of back surgery. Since yoga was such a large part of her back rehabilitiation, in 2007 she made the decision to become a yoga instructor herself. Early on in her yogic journey she has trained in the 5 Tibetan Rites and deep meditations of OSHO’s Dynamic & Kundalini meditations. But is was the love and joy of self-discovery within the strength, flow and philosophy of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga that made her decision to become 200 hour RYT Certified Baptiste Yoga instructor having completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 Baron Baptiste’s Teacher Trainings. Tina has also trained with Yoga Master Teachers Ana Forrest and has completed 2 modules of Shiva Rea’s teacher trainings. By using creative sequencing as well as the spiritual focus that Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga offers, Tina’s technique challenges the yoga practitioner to stretch both mentally and physically, on and off the mat.
Tina is licensed massage therapist and has her own massage practice. She brings massage related muscle awareness to her yoga classes and consciousness of body movement to empower students to be successful at any level. This expertise coupled with 20 years of ballet, dance and an extensive background in fitness and personal training make Tina's classes challenging, fun, and energetic for every level of student.
Anne fell in love with yoga in Costa Rica. After years of swimming, weight lifting, and marathon running, she decided to try yoga as a way to not only stretch and strengthen her muscles, but also to rehabilitate overstretched hamstrings. What she didn't expect was the joy and radiance that she experienced, and a deep and authentic connection to self through the artistry of her yoga practice, that she likes to call “the yoga glow.”
When Anne and her family made the move from Costa Rica to Seattle in 2010, Anne knew that she wanted to share her love of yoga by becoming a certified yoga instructor. She attended a 100 hour Power yoga teacher training with Amazing Yoga in October 2011 in Tulum, Mexico. Returning from her trip, she immediately enrolled in a 200 hour Power yoga teacher certification program with Be Luminous in Seattle.
She continues to grow as a teacher and a student by attending various workshops with Brian Kest, Liz Doyle and others. She most recently completed a Teacher Assisting Program with Lisa Black. In addition to Power Yoga, Anne has practiced Anusara, Ashtanga, and Yoga Nidra.
She takes a “Pura Vida” approach to her teaching, encouraging students to surf their edge in a safe and supportive environment, while staying true to their bodies, minds and spirits. In Anne’s classes students can expect to leave feeling energized, yet calm, having gained access to a deep sense of wellbeing and vitality.
