Anne fell in love with yoga in Costa Rica. After years of swimming, weight lifting, and marathon running, she decided to try yoga as a way to not only stretch and strengthen her muscles, but also to rehabilitate overstretched hamstrings. What she didn't expect was the joy and radiance that she experienced, and a deep and authentic connection to self through the artistry of her yoga practice, that she likes to call “the yoga glow.”

 

When Anne and her family made the move from Costa Rica to Seattle in 2010, Anne knew that she wanted to share her love of yoga by becoming a certified yoga instructor. She attended a 100 hour Power yoga teacher training with Amazing Yoga in October 2011 in Tulum, Mexico. Returning from her trip, she immediately enrolled in a 200 hour Power yoga teacher certification program with Be Luminous in Seattle.

 

She continues to grow as a teacher and a student by attending various workshops with Brian Kest, Liz Doyle and others. She most recently completed a Teacher Assisting Program with Lisa Black. In addition to Power Yoga, Anne has practiced Anusara, Ashtanga, and Yoga Nidra.

 

She takes a “Pura Vida” approach to her teaching, encouraging students to surf their edge in a safe and supportive environment, while staying true to their bodies, minds and spirits. In Anne’s classes students can expect to leave feeling energized, yet calm, having gained access to a deep sense of wellbeing and vitality.



Anne Gordon instructs the following:
  • Level 2-3 Baptiste Power Vinyasa
  • A Level 2-3 Power Vinyasa class with high energy, upbeat pacing, handstands, arm balances, and hip opening. Leaves you energized!

  • Level 2 Baptiste Power Vinyasa
  • Level 2: Basic Level where modifications for the postures offered. These classes flow through the complete, traditional Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga sequence of 53 postures and 11 series. Geared towards students who have some experience in Power Vinyasa yoga and is rewarding for experienced students as well.

  • Level 1.5 Baptiste Power Vinyasa
  • A slower paced, modified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga sequence. The instructors offer the modified variations for all of the postures throughout the practice, and students are invited to work at their own levels. This class is the perfect next step for people who have completed the Intro series or for practitioners new to Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. Each class may include a short “posture clinic” with detailed information about a focus asana.
